The Posse Foundation held its 2016 Spring Gala, entitled “An Evening of Stars,” on Wednesday, May 25th at 6:30 PM at Cipriani Wall Street, 55 Wall Street. Founded in 1989, Posse identifies public high school students with extraordinary academic and leadership potential who may be overlooked by traditional college selection processes. Posse extends to these students the opportunity to pursue personal and academic excellence by placing them in supportive, multicultural teams—Posses—of 10 students. Posse partner colleges and universities award Posse Scholars four-year, full-tuition leadership scholarships. The Gala was Emceed by Harry Smith, Correspondent, NBC News with a special Performance by Trevor Noah, Comedian, Actor and Host, The Daily Show.

AQUARIUS will be a magical night filled with sustainable seafood, delicious cocktails, live performances, a snow globe room, ice sculptures, firepits, champagne acrobats and more!
Aquarius being the sign of the fish and water and this the winter equinox event will answer the wildly popular Secret Summer Cocktail Festival Featuring 2 floors and over 4,000 square feet of innovative mixology, worldwide brands, and delectable seafood treats from NYC best restaurants. The event will take place again at The Foundry from 9PM – 1am with a VIP-Only Preview Hour from 7:30-9PM.
The Foundry is a 19th Century Building that has been meticulously restored to showcase its industrial character and stunning proportions. The interior boasts 3,000+ square feet of raw space with a lush outdoor courtyard, rooftop terrace with views of the Manhattan Skyline and an indoor Greenhouse. One of the most fascinating things about The Foundry is the beautiful facade which is a unique ivy-covered and plant filled courtyard.
Aquarius is the eleventh astrological sign in the Zodiac. The Aquarius constellation is a summer constellation in the northern hemisphere. Under the tropical zodiac, the sun is in Aquarius typically between January 20 and February 18. This astrological event will feature many delicacies of the sea as well as the height of beverage culture and innovative representations from a bevy of premium liquors. Guests will enter the Foundry from the arched stone and ivy passageway along a candlelit trail to the guest check in and coat check. There they will be greeted and ushered into the ‘white room’ adorned with winter wonder perfect for that insta-moment. As the guests meander thru the space they will be able to explore the lush greenhouse and expansive main hall where performers and treats abound. A hand selected cadre of NYC’s finest restaurants will be serving up bites and treats as many of the worlds most popular brands pouring tastes and cocktails in this intimate environment. The marquee whole fish grill by Chef Carlos Barroz will feature the finest in sustainable fishing and local farm to table. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to New York City’s Sustainable fisheries and shellfish farms.
As Secret Summer at The Foundry has been a success, the team curated a winter pop-up event, hence the Aquarius was created. Secret Summer's goal is to have an event for the seasons. They are moving toward something 4 times a year to celebrate seasonality and a different eco-responsible cause with each event centered around food and beverage. Just like how Secret Summer is a "Farm-to-Bar" Festival. AQUARIUS is a celebration of sustainable fishing techniques and cuisine.
Since we are in the middle of winter, a section will be outdoors with heat lamps, not tented but there will be fire pits for guests to enjoy the beautiful exterior of The Foundry.
They have partnered with Wild Fish Direct in regards to the selection of the food. All restaurants were hand selected and noted for their sustainability. Small bites will be provided for guests to enjoy complimentary but full meals will be available for purchase.

On Monday, August 1st, 2016 The World Premiere of Warner Bros. Pictures and Atlas Entertainment’s “Suicide Squad” took place at The Beacon Theatre in New York City. The film screening was an invitation only event as well as radio station winners and Midtown Comics guests. The after-party followed to an invitation only crowd at Skylight at Moynihan Station.

New York, NY – The iconic, world-renowned Empire State Building will illuminate in sparkling blue on Wednesday, Dec. 13th to commemorate the 34th annual Empire Ball, New York City’s most anticipated event of the year for the real estate and construction industries that raises needed funds for the Diabetes Research Institute (DRI) and its mission to find a biological cure for diabetes.
Blue is the international color of diabetes. When the Empire State Building turns blue to #LightTheSkyforDRI, it will shine a spotlight on the DRI’s singular mission to find a cure for this devastating disease that has become one of the biggest health concerns in the U.S. today. Supporters are encouraged to take photos and videos of one of the most recognizable symbols of New York going blue on Dec. 13 and share using #LightTheSkyforDRI when they post to social media outlets.
“Lighting of the Empire State Building is a perfect fit for the Empire Ball. The Ball honors the incredible New York real estate industry, a group of visionaries who built the magnificent NYC skyline to what it is today, all while raising awareness about diabetes, a disease that affects some 30 million Americans,” DRI President and CEO Joshua Rednik said. “A night that is always spectacular will shine brighter this year as that beautiful building turns blue. We are very excited to be celebrating this way, for the first time in the history of this outstanding fundraiser.”
Since its inception, the annual Empire Ball (DiabetesResearch.org/Empire-Ball-2017) has raised more than $37 million for diabetes research and helps bring awareness to the important work of the DRI. This year’s Empire Ball on Dec. 13 at the Grand Hyatt will honor three industry leaders: Paul H. Teti of Normandy Real Estate Partners with the Leadership Award; Robert Mullen of Structure Tone with the Camillo Ricordi Humanitarian Award; and Jeffrey A. Duarte of Alliance Building Services with the Peter L. DiCapua Distinguished Service Award.

New York was the first city in America to host Le Dîner en Blanc. The legendary French-inspired secret pop-up dinner party is among the most coveted events of the year, bringing together food lovers, cultural enthusiasts, and fashionistas. On August 22nd, 2017 over 5,000 people dressed in elegant head-to-toe white will descend upon a secret outdoor location in the city that is revealed at the last minute – last summer 45,000 people were on the wait list.
Members (those who are registered and have attended in previous years) of last year’s event will automatically receive an invitation to attend this year's event and will have the privilege of registering in Phase 1 set for Tuesday, August 8th. Please note that your guest from last year is not a member, so if he/she is not accompanying you this year, you have the option to sponsor him/her, or another friend or family member, so they will be invited during Phase 2 (Sponsored friends from Phase 1 Members).

Guests bring their own gourmet picnic, fine china and silverware, white table settings, white tables and chairs. Once all 5,000 guests are seated, at approximately 7 PM they will wave their white linen napkins in the air to signal the beginning of the dinner festivities. Visuals include all-white fashion ensembles , with a few masks, angel wings, Marie Antoinette wigs and white headpieces thrown in to spice things up; sumptuous food; and elaborate decorative table settings like caged white doves as a centerpiece, candelabras and flowers. There is entertainment and dancing once dinner concludes.
Dîner en Blanc will be hosted on a secret landmark outdoor public site in New York where diners can “see and be seen.” Groups of several hundred people first gather at 24 meeting points across the city and are guided by local volunteers, either on foot or by other organized means of transportation, to the location, which remains secret until minutes before the event is slated to start.
Launched in Paris in 1988 by François Pasquier and a handful of friends, Le Dîner en Blanc has become a worldwide epicurean phenomenon.
